Scar Tissue is Western Canada’s Premier Red Hot Chili Pepper’s tribute band. Comprised of seasoned musicians from in and around Edmonton, Alberta, Scar Tissue will take you on a musical journey, reenacting the same enthusiasm and all around fun show you’d experience by seeing RHCP in concert. Bringing the funk to a stage near you.
Kenneth – Vocals
Vocalist Kenneth Knight (KK) is a singer/songwriter who’s musical projects have taken him coast to coast in Canada. From metal, punk and pop to acoustic covers and original material.
Drawn to song writers and poets, Kenneth’s influences travel the musical universe. From Gord Downie (Tragically Hip), Justin Furstenfeld (Blue October) and Danny Michel, to Prince, Bob Dylan and of course the Pepper’s own Anthony Kiedis!
Mitch – Guitar
Guitarist Mitch Zorich has performed with bands spanning musical genres from World Music to Metal, and with Beatles and Metallica tribute acts.
Musical influences include Randy Rhoads, Kirk Hammett, J.S. Bach, Le Pétomane, Jem and the Holograms, and the wah Guitar part from the Three’s Company theme song.
Mitch can’t wait to get the Funk out with Scar Tissue on a stage near you.
Chris – Bass
Chris started his musical journey at the age of 14 when he got copies of Guns n’ Roses – Appetite for Destruction and Aerosmith – Get a Grip for Christmas. The very next year, he got his first bass guitar.
Over the years he’s learned and performed many styles of music with many different groups and he has an ultimate passion for writing. His main influences being, Duff McKagan, Flea, and all that weird new wave stuff from the 80’s like Talking Heads and XTC.
Playing Flea is a role that he’s taken on very seriously and can’t wait to share his interpretation of the legend soon on a stage near you!
Darren – Drums
Born in Whitehorse Yukon, Darren’s humble musical beginnings began on the piano at age 6. He then graduated to the guitar in his early teens, but percussion’s primal call (and an inborn desire to hit stuff) made him a drummer at the age of 15.
Worshipping the likes of Buddy Rich, John Bonham, Alex Van Halen, Nicko McBrain, and Tommy Aldridge. From playing his very first kit for the first time (right out of the boxes) at his very first gig, Darren has sat in the drum stool in many bands of varying styles and varying success over the years, but has now come full circle to re-discover his love of funk with ‘SCAR TISSUE’.
